Master Lau Soon Hing
- A Courageous Man Who Challenges Destiny

Born in Sungkai Village, Perak, Master Lau Soon Hing, came from a small income family. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, to whom he was greatly attached to.

Many illness befell upon the young Master Lau Soon Hing and his grandmother never left him for a moment. His grandfather died when he was very young. It was his grandmother who bore the burden of bringing him up. Although she was illiterate and weak, she earned a livelihood by selling toys on the street.

In Master Lau Soon Hing's words" My grandma was truly a self sacrificing person. She cared for me without much concern for herself. When I had accumulated some money, I really wanted to repay her in a small way, for her love, but it was already too late.... She had passed away many years ago."

During his 3rd grade, his beloved grandmother fell ill and couldn't work. He had to stop schooling. To support the family, he sold fruits and tikam (a local fortune lottery game tickets) on the street.

When his grandmother recovered, he continued his schooling. To this day, he's indebted to his teacher, Mr. Lai Fo Teck, for supporting him in his education.

After graduating from his high school in Bidor, Perak, he went to Kuala Lumpur to work. His 1st job was a sales person promoting medicinal products at Chow Mun Medical Centre in Pudu.

A year later, he went to work at Weng Lam Medicine Centre in Singapore. Master Lau Soon Hing is a very practical person. Being an opportunist, he retired from his job in Singapore and with his wealth of knowledge in medicine, he set up a shop called `Lau Soon Hing Trading Company'. His business venture expanded year after year and was a mega success.

But fate played a hand in rendering him back at the starting point losing everything; his wealthy lifestyle, high status and security. With no company in hand, he resorted to selling medicines to support his life.

He knew he could not continue in this way. Together with a friend, Chuang Pe Hua, he founded a company called `Lee Fong' which employed an aggressive marketing strategy. His method soon reaped success.

Master Lee Soon Hing believes deeply in a family relationship. He treated his staff very well. He never exerts himself as the boss. Thus he earned the unwavering loyalty and respect from his workers.

In 1988, he was struck by a vision of a beautiful place which epitomizes all he knew about Fung Shui. He bought an area of land in Malacca, to bring this this vision into reality. That land is the grounds of Auyin.

As the Managing Director, he was involved in every stage of the resorts development. Auyin is created in the light of traditional Chinese architecture and culture to commemorate ancient China. He also gave himself a traditional Chinese name: Pak Yoke See

In a nutshell, Master Lau Soon Hing @ Pak Yoke See went through many ups and downs in his many years of hardship.
